Le forte System has four sections of micro, mid, mini, maxi to meet the various needs of Cranio-facial, Plastic, Neuro, orthopedic and Reconstruction of madible (As a compact system, it can be used for such a large range of rigid fixations as delicate cranial bone in infants, adult cranial bone, the thin bones of the mid-face and the highly-stressed thick bone of the mandible). Titanium is nontoxic material for the implant in the biological environment. Bone screws Bone screws are made of Titanium alloy (ASTM F136) and consisted of common bone screw, self-drilling screw (Auto screw). Common bone screws are divided to 4 classes; Micro, Mid, Mini, Maxi Screws. And the auto screws (self-drilling screws) are divided to 3 classes; Micro auto, Mid auto and Mini auto screws. This device is comprised of screws ranging in diameter of 1.2mm to 3.0mm and in lengths ranging from 2.0mm to 20mm Bone plates Bone Plates are comprised of a variety of shapes and sizes designed for internal fixation of small bones (toe, foot, finger, hand etc.) and reconstruction of Mandible & Maxilla. (Craniomaxillofacial Skeleton). The plates includes straight, Y, Z, curved, squar e, L(Left/Right), T, X, H, mesh and etc. Plates are manufactured from titanium. (ASTM F67-95 G1) This plate system provide non-sterile. Therefore, this device must be sterilized prior to use. Sterilization method recommends steam sterilization. The operating surgeon chooses the plate & screw with his decision. Generally used in Craniofacial & Neuro surgery. They have the lowest Profile (0.55mm). Straight 18 Hole, H and Y, Q plates are the most commonly used. Using the finger pressure only, the micro plate of 0.5mm thickness can be bent. Using the bending forceps, the outer segment of plate can be bent. To cut any of the Micro plate, a wire cutter or small plate cutter can be used. Plate handling Flat edges allow the plate to be grasped by the forceps None of the screw hole needs to be covered while the plate is being positioned or while the pilot holes are being drilled. Using finger pressure or plate bender, all of the Micro plates can be bent and contoured. Using wire or plate cutter, all of the Micro plates can be cut. The edge created by breaking off a plate section can be smoothed using a round carbide burr or stainless steel burr. Drilling Pilot Holes Drill a pilot hole reduces the fracturing and the level of torque necessary to drive the screw into bone. To reduce the potential for thermal necrosis, pilot drill should be used at minimal RPM. Proper pilot drilling technique asks to prevent deflection of drill and an eccentric hole through the bone. Plate Fixation Use of the Screwdriver. The screwdriver shaft is interchangeable. Each shaft features a cruciform tip that fits into the screw head. In case of the region where bone is very dense and thick, the bone tap is used. By tapping after producing a pilot hole, screw will be inserted easily. For the operation details, please refer to the " IFU" Using cannula/trocar system, screw can be inserted into the posterior regions of the mandible. HANDLING & STERIZATION These screws` are provided non-sterile. Therefore, this device must be sterilized prior to use. Sterilization method use steam sterilization. Jeil Medical Corporation recommends the steam sterilization method. (Sterilization condition: 121°C, 15min.) This device is provided vinyl package. (Material: PE) "
